Local produce delivery service Freshlist, a business that connects local farms with restaurants and home cooks, is kicking off another round of its CSR, or Community Supported Restaurants, a play on Community Supported Agriculture, or CSA, where customers sign up and pay in advance to regularly receive farm produce. CSR members will get a three-course meal delivered to their doorstep each week for six weeks, each meal made in the kitchen of a Charlotte restaurant that supports local farms.
Freshlist kicked off the CSR offering during the pandemic, with restaurants like Kindred and The Stanley taking part. The program has been tweaked and reintroduced with a shorter subscription timeline and a set menu, ensuring the meals aren’t repetitive and offer a similar value. The first CSR delivery or pickup will take place the week of February 10. This season’s lineup is as follows: The Goodyear House sister concept Old Town Kitchen & Cocktails, Meshugganah, Gallery Restaurant, Chef Alyssa’s Kitchen, Community Matters Café, and Haymaker.
The six-week subscription costs $480, with each meal serving two people. The dinners will be delivered or available for pickup at Freshlist headquarters in the Belmont neighborhood. Each meal is sourced from local farms and includes an appetizer, main course, and dessert, and comes with reheating instructions.
Explore the subscription and see the restaurants’ offerings here. Only 40 subscriptions are available, beginning at 3 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 24.
