Unpretentious Cooking: Super Bowl Menu Inspiration for Game Day
Mix home-cooked snacks and desserts with restaurant take-out mains
The Super Bowl, whether you’re a fan of sports or not, has become an unofficial holiday centered around entertainment, food, and drink. Before the pandemic, hosts would prepare for a gathering around the television with a large spread of finger foods and coolers packed with beer. Though the gatherings this year will be smaller and the tailgate-style parties almost non-existent, we can still throw a Super Bowl feast with a scaled down approach. Rather than cooking everything, consider supporting local restaurants by purchasing a few larger items for takeout (find our suggestions here) and adding a few home-cooked sides and desserts or one-pot items. When thinking about what beverages to have, support a local brewery by picking up a few growlers or 4-packs, or grab a Moscow Mule kit from us on Sunday afternoon. Here are a few menu ideas to inspire a fun, hassle-free Super Bowl this year.
