Chef Ryan Allen of Reid’s SouthPark will share a meal that represents his life
This summer, we tried out a new style of event at Dot Dot Dot: our Meet the Chef dinner series. We wanted to explore a new style of storytelling, where you get to hear the story of a chef’s life from their own perspective — and through food. (See photos from the dinner here). The event was a success, with all of the lucky attendees feeling a personal connection with chef Daniel Wheeler by the end of it. So, we’re continuing the series.
Our next Meet the Chef dinner will take place at Reid’s Fine Foods in SouthPark on Monday, August 26. We can’t wait for everyone to get to know the upscale marketplace and restaurant’s new executive chef, Ryan Allen. You might recognize his name (and certainly his cooking); Allen spent several years as the executive chef at littleSpoon in Myers Park before taking a position at Whole Foods.
The multi-course dinner will take guests through Allen’s life, from childhood to today and into what he hopes his future will look like. You’ll get to hear the story of how he got out of a small town in Georgia with help from his mom and home economics teacher, and how he fell in love with cooking. And, as always, you’ll get to ask questions and chat with the chef.
