The Atlanta Business Journal reported last year that the Atlanta tourism board paid up to $1 million to make it happen there. There are now 44 Michelin-recognized restaurants in Atlanta — but only five Michelin-starred restaurants, and none with more than a single star. Is it worth $1 million to bring Michelin here? That’s hard to say — it wouldn’t bring in that in additional restaurant sales, but it would give the city a new level of prestige.
