What’s coming to Camp North End
Here are all the new concepts, and when they’re opening

Camp North End will be adding many new food and beverage concepts. Kristen Wile/UP
Camp North End has seen rapid growth since it first opened to the public as a mixed use space back in 2017. Much of that growth has been in the food and beverage sector, as food and beverage concepts have spread across the property and festivals such as BayHaven Food & Wine have debuted on the property. Aside from being home to James Beard Award finalist Greg Collier and Leah & Louise, you’ll also find bakery Wentworth & Fenn, cheese and charcuterie shop Babe & Butcher, Hex Coffee, Free Range Brewing, food stalls including UPPY Award winner PlantJoy, and more.
This time next year, that list will be much longer. Here’s a summary of what’s happening at Camp North End, and when.
Seemingly Overzealous
Scheduled opening: Late summer/early fall
The most recently announced food tenant, from Charlotteans Garrett Tichy and Jessica Berresse, will serve dairy-free ice cream in rotating flavors to include the expected, like classic vanilla, as well as the bold, such as blood orange carrot ginger.
NoDa Company Canteen
Scheduled opening: Early August
The little cousin to NoDa Company Store will expand from a small, outdoor bar to a brick-and-mortar location.
Passage Seafood
Scheduled opening: Late 2022
One of four new spots from BayHaven Restaurant Group, this modern fish camp will sit 50, with room for another nearly 40 guests outside.
The Abyss
Scheduled opening: Late 2022
Mixologist Justin Hazelton, who recently launched his own consulting company Top Shelf Co., will oversee cocktail bar The Abyss, with classic cocktails, a limited menu of items from next door Passage Seafood, and a selection of upscale diner dishes.
Bird Is The Word and B.A.D. (Beyond Amazing Donuts)
Scheduled opening: Late 2022
Two of the four new concepts from the team behind Leah & Louise will be situated next to one another, with counter service and a shared outdoors-only dining space: Bird Is The Word, a chicken spot with the protein served ways from fried on a sandwich to stew, and B.A.D., or Beyond Amazing Donuts, an artisan donut shop run by pastry chef Jasmine Macon.
HEX Coffee
Scheduled opening: Late 2022
Specialty coffee roaster HEX Coffee was one of the earliest vendors at Camp North End. They’ll expand into a 2,700-square-foot space with a full kitchen, coffee bar, café, and seating for 40 as well as outdoor seating.
The Revelry
Scheduled opening: Late 2022
Best Impressions Caterers, which holds the catering license to places like the VanLandingham Estate and most of the city’s museums, signed a lease on a 600-seat, 23,000-square-foot event space.
