The Darning Egg at Lincoln’s Haberdashery. Kristen Wile/UP

Chefs know good food, so we wanted to know where they eat when they’re not cooking. In this series, we ask a local chef, bartender, or server to share their favorite restaurants in town and what they order there. This week, Piedmont Culinary Guild founder and Sabor’s director of operations Kris Reid discloses her personal favorites.

Lincoln’s Haberdashery, South End
This quirky marketplace offers artisanal goods along with wine, beer, breakfast, and lunch
Kris’ order: Darning Egg (shirred egg, Benton’s bacon, potato, and toast)

Bonterra, Dilworth
A renovated 19th-century church that features an extensive wine list
Kris’ order: Prosciutto flatbread

Stagioni, Myers Park
An Italian eatery specializing in seasonal pastas and pizzas
Kris’ order: Just about any pizza from the wood-fired oven
Pro tip: Sit at the pizza bar to watch all the action behind the scenes

Mal Pan, SouthPark
Chef-driven Mexican cuisine that offers a combination of modern and classic Mexican gastronomy
Kris’ order: Surf and Turf California Burrito

300 East, Dilworth
