Whether you’re more comfortable dining outside or just want to enjoy some fresh air, here are our favorite local restaurant patio dining experiences. This list takes into consideration not only the patio space, but the quality of food and service, too.

    300 EAST
    Dilworth
A neighborhood and city-wide favorite since 1986, the place is renowned for its French onion soup, pimento cheese platter, “The Usual” sandwich, innovative desserts — and the very patio-friendly Matilda Wong cocktail.

    BLINDER’S SPORTS BAR
    South End
In the heart of South End, Blinder’s offers a comfortable, fresh-air patio where you can stay up on the scores while enjoying creative craft cocktails and bar eats.

    CHAPTER 6
    South End
Large comfortable patio on Charlotte’s Rail Trail is a fine spot to share Mediterranean dishes and enjoy cocktails created by former UPPY Mixologist of the Year Brittany Kellum.

    THE DEGENERATE
    Villa Heights
A small, but enjoyable patio on North Davidson to enjoy what many call “the new era of the neighborhood bar.”

    THE GOODYEAR HOUSE
    NoDa
You’ll find a family-friendly, neighborhood vibe in the courtyard of The Goodyear House, where a century-old holly tree shades those at tables or the outdoor bar.

    HAVANA 33
    Mooresville
Cuban cuisine and cocktails with a view of Lake Norman (complete with boat slips). It’s very easy to lose a sunny afternoon here.

    HELLO, SAILOR
    Cornelius
Katy and Joe Kindred’s Lake Norman waterfront concept pairs a modernized fish camp fare and beach-worthy cocktails with a great view.

    KID CASHEW
    Dilworth
Wood-fired, Greece-inspired fare and a menu with plenty of flavorful options in Dilworth draw brunch crowds and families.

    MANO BELLA BISTRO & MARKET
    SouthPark
Bricked patio offers a pleasant place to enjoy chef Raffaele Patrizi’s fresh pasta dishes, fried calamari, charcuterie boards, and more. Don’t overlook the three on-tap spritzes.

    PIZZA BABY EAST
    Elizabeth
A nice trip on the Gold Line (plenty of free parking, too) to enjoy a variety of crafted pizzas and other fare with a nice cocktail list. The streetside dining area is a great people-watching spot.

    REID’S FINE FOODS
    SouthPark
With a stone fireplace and frequent live music, this all-day upscale marketplace’s SouthPark location is a reliable outdoor dining spot.
