SouthPark is getting a Southwest restaurant and bar

The bar includes over 30 tequilas and sangria by the pitcher

Pink Cactus, a new Southwest-inspired restaurant and bar, will open March 19 in SouthPark in the former Treehouse Whiskey and Fork space. The grand opening is March 30 with live music, drink specials, and planned celebratory activities.

The menu will focus on Southwest cuisine and will have over 30 tequilas, 25 beers, margarita and sangria pitchers, and craft cocktails. Additionally, the front of the restaurant will serve as a coffee and macaron bar. Guests can enjoy hookah on the patio. Brunch on Sundays is also planned to start when open.

“Treehouse was successful, but in the restaurant world, there’s a time to update and refresh to give the market what it is looking for and we believe Charlotte is looking for Pink Cactus,” says General Manager Bryan Godart. “I’m excited for Pink Cactus to offer a different vibe in SouthPark.”

Renovations included a remodel of the 3,000 square-foot interior and expansion of the now covered patio. The restaurant will seat 200 with an additional 22 seats at the bar. The general idea sounds fun but could be a massive undertaking for a new restaurant with such a large space and so many moving parts to start off all at once. I look forward to seeing everything in action next week. Pink Cactus is located at 4423 Sharon Rd., and is open seven days a week (hours vary depending on the day). —Justin Burke-Samson
