Sorellina Pasta Co. coming to The Plaza this spring
The shop will sell handmade and fresh pastas, wine, and provisions
By Jacqueline Pennington
Kristiana Perini is in the final stages of opening her retail pasta and wine shop in an old craftsman home at the edge of Villa Heights, near Plaza Midwood. Perini spent the last 10 years earning her culinary degree and working in restaurants in Washington D.C., Napa Valley and even in Tuscany before landing in Charlotte. Sorellina, which means “little sister” in Italian, will be her opportunity to work for herself and make something she loves for her community.

“I’ve always loved pasta,” Perini says. “I’ve loved making it and I’ve certainly loved eating it, so it seemed like a good avenue to go down instead of a standard restaurant service that keeps you up late at night.”
The shop will have a variety of pastas in the case, both extruded pasta and pasta that’s been filled and shaped by hand. They will be made fresh daily and the selection will vary based on seasonal ingredients. There will also be pasta sauces, focaccia, provisions like tinned fish and olive oil, and Italian wine.
“I think a lot of us these days are aware of how food affects the way we feel, so I want to be able to use the best ingredients possible and provide delicious meals to people who are looking to get something on the table quickly at home,” Perini says. “I’ve always loved being able to bring people together around a table of good food, so I really can’t wait to open this business up.”
Sorellina Pasta Co. will be located at 2341 The Plaza and Perini hopes to open at the end of March.
