Q&A: Counter-‘s opening date, croissants

Q: When will Counter- open in its new location?
Kristen: The opening date is currently scheduled for October for Counter-‘s new West Charlotte location, and Biblio will open around the same time. We’ll keep you posted as things progress. If you’re looking to check out Counter- in the meantime, they’re hosting Monday pop-ups at new Plaza Midwood bar Humbug over the summer.
Q: Where can I find the best croissants in town?
Kristen: This is a question we get often! I’d check out Renaissance Patisserie, and while you’re there, don’t forget to pick up a kouign-amann, too. The pastry was a favorite of celebrity chef Amanda Freitag when she visited Charlotte for the Charlotte StrEATs Festival. Other great croissants can be found at Copain and Sunflour.
