Extra Reading: Gouda is actually pronounced howda. It originated in the 1500’s in the town of Gouda, Netherlands. The milk used is from small, local farms in that region. There are various styles of Gouda, from supple and creamy, like this one, which is aged for six months, to very crumbly and crystalized Gouda, which can be aged in rounds for seven years or more.
