Celebrate Pride Week with these food and drink events
Charlotte’s Pride celebration takes place this week
It’s Pride Week in Charlotte, meaning fabulous, high-energy events are taking place all over town. If you’re looking to celebrate beyond attending Saturday’s parade, here are a few food and drink events you might want to check out. —Kristen Wile
Pour Pride
Thursday, Aug. 15 | 6 to 11 p.m.
Play Pride Music Bingo and be entertained with drag performances by Tricia Lust, Shania Satisfaction, and Onya Mann. Shimmer Down will provide sparkle, while Brushed will have a styling station.
PrideFest Queens Who Brunch
Saturday, Aug. 17 | 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Purchase a table for four, six, or eight to a drag brunch at Ink N Ivy. Jaidynn Diore Fierce of RuPaul’s Drag Race hosts; your ticket includes the drag show, brunch, and a welcome cocktail. A table of four costs $240.
POSTPONED – Yass Honey cocktail contest
Saturday, Aug. 17 | 1 to 3 p.m.
204 North hosts a drag cocktail contest with some of the city’s best bartenders competing in drag. Three rounds will make use of three different spirits, all requiring the use of honey. Attendees will help select the winner by donating the most money to that bartender’s tip jar.
Pride Brunch
Sunday, Aug. 18 | 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Madison Renata and Riley Malicious make an appearance at 204 North for a drag brunch in honor of Charlotte Pride.
