The Kimpton’s restaurant properties, Angeline’s and Merchant & Trade, have a new pastry chef. Charles Asch will oversee the dessert programs at both restaurants.

Asch comes most recently from Baltimore, where he was pastry chef at Atlas Restaurant Group, a brand with several restaurants spanning a broad array of cuisines under its name. Asch oversaw the desserts at five of the restaurants.

The Michigan native worked as a pastry chef in New York after studying Baking and Pastry arts at Stratford University. His desserts just hit the menu, and include a butterscotch budino and a chocolate olive oil cake.  —Kristen Wile
