Courtney Buckley, owner of Your Mom’s Donuts, has signed a lease on Main Street in Davidson. She plans to open a new concept, called Your Mom’s Bazaar, in the building that housed Bonjour Y’all Bakery. Your Mom’s Bazaar will sell local meat, produce, and dry goods from local farmers and producers. Buckley’s signature square donuts will be sold there a few days a week. The target opening date for Your Mom’s Bazaar is late September, despite the ongoing pandemic.

“The space came up that’s just perfect — it’s right downtown,” Buckley says. “I don’t know if now is the most ideal time to grow any business, but here we are.”

The hope is to have most customers pre-order their groceries and pick them up in the store, but the shop will also be available for people to come in and browse. Buckley also anticipates eventually expanding to home delivery.

As Covid-19 changes shopping and eating habits, Buckley is adapting. She and her staff at Your Mom’s Donuts saw significant success as the bakery shifted from selling solely baked goods to providing produce from local farmers for customer pick-up at the shop. She plans to use those lessons learned in creating Your Mom’s Bazaar.

“If this opportunity had come up at another time, I probably would’ve tried to figure out how to do it anyway,” she says. “But it’s like we got a practice run with Covid and everything that was going on and having to make that shift, so when this opportunity came up, it was much harder to say no.”
