Your Mom’s Donuts kicks off local produce shop

Purchase meat, produce, and more for pick-up at the shop

Your Mom’s Donuts, a local favorite for those seeking a gourmet breakfast treat, is expanding into the grocery business through an online ordering portal on their website. All the offerings are local and include fresh breads and pastries, cheeses, ice creams, and other dairy products, fresh produce like locally-grown peaches and strawberries, gourmet cuts of meat, pantry staples like pasta, body care items, fresh flowers, locally roasted coffee, frozen food items, and even vegan meals.

Owner Courtney Buckley kicked off sales of local produce early in the stay-at-home order, slowly adding items from farmers to the bakery’s existing online shopping system. Customers would pick up their orders curb-side. The popularity of the program grew, and now, it has grown into its own online experience.

“We didn’t have time to build our dream store when this all started as we worked a little bit backwards in launching this new business, and you all were patient with us and extended so much grace our way,” Buckley said in announcing the new venture.

Though the Covid-19 pandemic has reshaped the food landscape in the Charlotte area, taking its toll on small businesses, Your Mom’s Donuts’ new online store is another useful tool to help support some of our favorite local businesses like Orrman’s Cheese Shop, Meck County Farm, Tega Hills Farm, Chop Shop Butchery, and Beverly’s Gourmet Foods during these difficult times. Your Mom’s Donuts can also still be ordered through the website, but they tend to sell out quickly.

Grocery items are currently only available for pick up and Wednesday and Saturday. Order by 10 p.m. on Monday for a Wednesday pickup, and by 10 p.m. on Thursday for a Saturday pickup. Pickup locations include their Davidson location, Free Range Brewing, and their Matthews and Park Road locations. —Travis Mullis
