Where the Industry Eats: Stefan Huebner

The mixologist’s taste is international and casual

Folks in the restaurant industry know good food, so we want to know where they eat when they’re outside of their restaurants. In this series, we ask a member of the culinary industry to share their favorite local restaurants (not including their own) and what they order. Dot Dot Dot owner Stefan Huebner shares the spots he hits up when he’s not behind his bar. —Kristen Wile

    Eddie’s Place Restaurant, Cotswold
An old-school Charlotte spot with a classic menu
    Huebner’s order: The all-day breakfast

    Lang Vang, Plaza Shamrock
This restaurant is equally beloved for its pho as its owner
Huebner’s order: Crispy quail for an appetizer, and pineapple fried rice with spicy pork and shrimp or the spicy pork vermicelli salad as a main. “This is where I take all my out-of-town people for Vietnamese food,” he says, calling the restaurant’s service the best he’s ever had anywhere in the world.

    Optimist Hall, Optimist Park
A food hall in an former hosiery factory
Huebner’s order: Papi Queso, Bao + Broth, or The Dumpling Lady

    Sal’s Pizza Factory, Monroe Road
“It’s about as legit Northeast style pizza you can get in Charlotte,” Huebner says
Huebner’s order: Pepperoni and sausage pizzas by the slice

    Tacos El Nevado, multiple locations
One of our favorite Mexican restaurants has locations on Central Avenue and South Boulevard
