Camp North End announces Next Plate fall lineup

The dinner series combines fine arts with the art of cooking

The fall lineup for Camp North End’s Next Plate series, which pairs chef-driven dining experiences with local arts groups, has been announced, and it’s another solid one. Among the chefs on the roster are Paul Verica of The Stanley, Mike Noll of Bardo, and Ryan Allen of Reid’s Fine Foods. Allen is also the next chef to take part in our Meet the Chef series dinner on Aug. 26.

The series kicked off earlier this year at Camp North End, a mixed use development in a former Ford factory and army plant. Camp North End Community Manager Varian Shrum came up with the series as a way to introduce food-focused events to the property’s lineup of activities.

“We thought about the idea of food as art,” she told us when the series launched, “and why not combine all different kinds of artists, meaning chefs and musicians, or chefs and visual artists, chefs and film producers, chefs and opera?”

Tickets to the dinners are $90, an increase from the $60 price point earlier this year. However, the dinners sold out quickly, showing there is a high demand for the experiences. The full schedule is as follows:

    September 18:
Chef Whitney Thomas (5Church) + Chef McKinzie Spence (La Belle Helene) + Discovery Place | Tickets

    September 25:
Chef Ryan Allen (Reid’s Fine Foods) + Chef Quientina Stewart (Johnson & Wales) + Mint Museum | Tickets

    October 9:
Chef Paul Verica (The Stanley) + Mixologist Amanda Britton (Bardo) + Payne Dance | Tickets

    October 16:
Chef Vince Giancarlo (Zeppelin) + Chef Mike Noll (Bardo) + Tosco Music | Tickets
