Charlotte Wine & Food Weekend tickets on sale today

The four day series has an event for any type of wine enthusiast

Save the date: Charlotte Wine & Food Weekend is April 24-27, 2019. Tickets go on sale at noon today, Thursday, February 21.

The four-day event is a celebration of some of the world’s finest wines paired with food created by local culinary talents. The weekend kicks off on Wednesday, April 24 with private in-home dinners. Thursday, April 25, the public events begin with the restaurant and vintner dinner series. Participating restaurants in and around Charlotte are paired with a vineyard to create a unique multi-course dinner and pairing. Included in participating restaurants this year are: The Fig Tree with Fantesca Estate & Winery, Fin & Fino with Benevolent Neglect Wines, and Bonterra with Rombauer Vineyards.

Friday, April 26 is the Grand Tasting, the largest event of the weekend highlighting over 100 wines to taste. Included are small bites prepared by Charlotte chefs and food artisans. The weekend concludes Saturday, April 27 with The Lucky 13 Experience, the newest addition to the weekend series. A 1,000-point tasting, a sampling of 10 100-point wines, takes place Saturday afternoon followed by a private 300-point Italian wine dinner and live auction that evening. A limited event, only 60 tickets are available.

Charlotte Wine & Food Weekend is a charitable event, raising funds for children’s charities. Proceeds for 2019 benefit five charities: Charlotte Concerts, Pat’s Place, Mitchell’s Fund, The Relatives, and The Council of Children’s Rights.

Tickets go on sale today with some early bird specials. Previews of silent auction items will be available as well. Locations for events vary throughout the weekend. —Justin Burke-Samson
