20-Buck Bottle: A Washington white

Clean and bright with balanced fruit

L’Ecole No. 41 Yakima Valley 2020 Chenin Blanc

Available at: Assorted Table Wine Shoppe, The Market at 7th Street
Price: $19.99

On the nose: Kiwi, apricot, hint of lime, orange peel
On the palate:  Balanced acidity, full body, white peach, very clean finish
On the plate: Pair with roasted salmon, zucchini lasagna, hearty salads, chicken pot pie

Our take: A truly yummy white with layers of flavor; very food friendly. This is a perfect alternative for chardonnay consumers.

Fun fact: L’Ecole means school in French. The winery’s tasting room is located in the former Frenchtown school house just west of Walla Walla, Washington. Walla Walla is a beautiful part of Washington state, near the Columbia River in the southeastern part of the state. L’Ecole is a third generation, family owned winery that is worth a visit for those in the area.
