20-Buck Bottle: Juicy, ripe Italian red

A bright summer red to enjoy with many of your grilled foods

    by Anita Skogland

2019 Quattro Mani Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, Italy

Available at: Pasta & Provisions, Providence Rd.
    Price: $13.99

On The Nose: Cherry, red fruits, bright fresh bouquet, a hint of earth.
On The Palate: Blueberry, balanced tannin, medium body, floral, a hint of spice.
On The Plate: Pair with sausages, burgers, hearty salads, grilled vegetables, grilled chicken.

Our Take: A solid summer wine to enjoy with whatever you are grilling. Easy drinking — as Giada De Laurentis counsels, drop an ice cube into the glass and let it chill.

Fun Fact: Quattro Mani means four hands in English. The winery was developed by two friends who are winemakers in the Abruzzo region of Italy. They are dedicated to making good quality wine at affordable prices. The grape is montepulciano – not to be confused with the region of Montepulciano, which is in Tuscany and famous for Vino Nobile de Montepulciano, made from a clone of sangiovese.
