Fun Facts: Blend of Aragonez, Trincadeira and Alicante Bouchet grapes. 14% ABV. Winemaker Rui Reguinga was born into a grape growing family. After formal studies in winemaking and a masters in wine marketing, he studied in Bordeaux and Champagne, then returned to Portugal to study with top wine producers there. He returned to his family estate to make award wining wines, using grapes native to Portugal. He is a frequent judge at wine contests throughout Europe. Stay on the lookout for wines from Portugal – they are very affordable and food friendly. Many producers are small so they don’t get the distribution that they deserve, but the market is changing.
