Ryan Hart, the general manager and beverage director at Zeppelin, will be moving on from the South End restaurant to work at The Crunkleton. Hart will be the new cocktail bar and restaurant’s bar manager.
“Chef Vince Giancarlo and I worked our butts off this year to create a concept from scratch but I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to work under such a legend,” Hart says of the move. Hart says a chance meeting with Gary Crunkleton led to him taking a position at the Elizabeth spot, which opened a few weeks ago. His last day at Zeppelin is this Sunday, Jan. 13, though he’s been spending his days off working at The Crunkleton. His first official day as bar manager there is Monday, Jan. 14.
Zeppelin opened on Tremont Avenue just over a year ago, serving seasonal shared plates and craft cocktails. Hart will leave the bar at Zeppelin in the hands of Charlie Nguyen, whom he calls a newcomer to the cocktail scene and a rising star with a passion for Japanese-style bartending. —Kristen Wile
