Win a professionally decorated gingerbread house

Creations by the city’s best pastry chefs are up for auction

Decorating the coffee shop at Community Matters Café this week is a festive row of gingerbread houses. You’ll find Snoopy and Santa’s cookie shop, as well as a hot cocoa truck and a violin. They’ve been created by some of the best pastry chefs in Charlotte, and they’re being auctioned off as a fundraiser.

Ashley Anna Tuttle, the pastry chef at the non-profit restaurant, says she started working on the event in October. The plan is for the auction to be an annual fundraiser for Community Matters Café. Taking part in the debut auction are Brigitte Oger of Craft Cakes CLT, Laney Jahkel-Parrish of 300 East, Miranda Brown, Jossie Lukacik of Sweet Spot Studio, Justin Fry of The Club at Longview, McKinzie Spence of La Belle Helene, Mary Jayne Wilson of Amelie’s French Bakery, Maris Ochoa of Copain, Hannah Woociker of Barrister’s, and Seless Lautzenhiser and Bo Southivorarat of Southminster.

Check out some of our favorite houses below. See one that could be the perfect centerpiece for your holiday parties? Check out the rest of the gingerbread creations and bid on them here. As of writing, some houses were still at just $10. —Kristen Wile
