    Where to enjoy live music outside

    Take advantage of patio season before it gets too hot


    One of my favorite spring activities is enjoying a glass of wine outside on a restaurant patio while listening to live music. The weather is finally right for this, and it’s not going to last long. Here’s where you can wine and dine while musicians keep your ears entertained. This list will be updated. —Kristen Wile

     

    Dressler’s Restaurant, Met
    Thursdays from 5:30 to 8 p.m.
    Take advantage of Music at the Metropolitan, which runs through June 13, during dinner on the patio at Dressler’s


    Lake Norman Cottage, Davidson
    Thursdays from 7 to 9 p.m.
    This small wine shop on Lake Norman is a quaint escape just off the highway


    Pizza Peel, Plaza Midwood
    Thursdays and Fridays at 7 p.m.; Sundays at 4 p.m.
    This pizza place on the corner of Central Avenue and Thomas Street is a popular destination for families


    Poplar, Fourth Ward
    Fridays from 7 to 10 p.m.
    For a quieter Friday night, grab a glass of wine and cheese plate to enjoy in front of this historic home-turned-café


    The Pump House, Fort Mill
    Wednesdays and Thursdays from 6 to 9 p.m.
    Take in a view of the water and enjoy live music on the restaurant’s rooftop


    RuRu’s, Myers Park
    Wednesdays from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
    Tacos, music, and margaritas make this patio popular on nice nights


    The Waterman, Sedgefield
    Thursdays, 6 to 9 p.m.
    The sister concept to Sea Level NC brings entertainment and oyster specials to its rooftop, called Topside, each week
