Upstream executive chef Sam Diminich will make an appearance on Food Network next week. Diminich will compete on Beat Bobby Flay, a series where two chefs compete in a cook-off for the chance to put their food up against a dish from Iron Chef Bobby Flay.
Diminich’s episode will air on Thursday, Jan. 16 at 10 p.m. The episode, number 23 of the show’s third season, is titled “America’s Funniest Food Show.” Bob Saget, best known as Danny Tanner on Full House, makes a guest appearance.
In order to cook against Flay, Diminich must first beat chef Aliza Green of Philadelphia. Upstream will be hosting a viewing party at the restaurant at 9:30 p.m. There’s been an increasing Charlotte presence on the Food Network lately; executive chef of The Goodyear House Chris Coleman recently won on Chopped. —Kristen Wile
