Grinning Mule, a new restaurant off Commonwealth Avenue, has opened its doors. The restaurant was ready to open in March as the Covid-19 pandemic hit, forcing restaurants to close dining rooms state-wide and delaying the new Plaza Midwood restaurant’s opening.
The eclectic menu includes flatbreads, tacos, and small plates with international flavors. There is a sizable selection of vegetarian, pescatarian, and gluten-free options among them. See the full menu here.
Operating out of what used to be a mechanic’s garage, Grinning Mule is run by Bart Kofoed, the founder of 2xsalt Ministries, and Scott Walker, whose name you may recognize as former executive chef at Heist Brewery. Bob Peters will run the cocktail program.
Grinning Mule’s hours are currently 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday nights.
