Sukoshi, a small, Uptown sushi restaurant by the restaurant group behind O-Ku, opened today on Tryon Street. The restaurant has a grab-and-go case, and small dining room that can seat 25 to 30 people. The service is fast-casual and full-service, focusing on efficient experiences for busy business people.

Eventually, the concept will launch a 30-minute omakase, or chef’s tasting menu, experience for three seats in the restaurant. The condensed food journey will cost $30. On extremely busy (or anti-social) days, instead of eating in the dining room or grabbing something from the coolers, you can order from an app and have your sushi waiting for you.

On the menu are traditional nigiri and sashimi, as well as signature rolls. There are some small bites, such as dumplings and egg rolls, as well as bowls that can be ordered as a maki bowl, salad, or grain bowl. As far as beverages go, there will be a cooler with craft beer, canned wine, and two sakes.

The restaurant is in Bank of America Plaza, near Eddie V’s, and will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, with half-price sushi from the grab-and-go cooler from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Current O-Ku executive chef Michael Chanthavong will oversee the menu as well as the opening at Sukoshi, but will still be in the kitchen at O-Ku most evenings. —Kristen Wile
