Rosemont Market & Wine Bar to open May 15

Newest restaurant from 1957 Hospitality Group joins The Crunkleton in Elizabeth

Rosemont Market & Wine Bar, the market and restaurant concept by 1957 Hospitality Group, will be opening Monday, May 15 at Elizabeth on Seventh, the new multi-use development at the intersection of 7th Street, Caswell, and Pecan.

It sits across the street from 1957’s The Crunkleton and its yet-to-open new latin food/mezcal concept in the former space of The Stanley. The group also owns Cheat’s Cheesesteak Parlor on Pecan.

Unlike The Crunkleton, which is known for its whiskey and vintage spirits collections, Rosemont will focus on wine by the glass or by the bottle, with food meant to pair.

The restaurant-market will be open all day, from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., serving breakfast and lunch to diners with counter service before switching to full-service dining in the evenings. Breakfast and lunch will feature pastries, sandwiches, soups, and salads – along with an array of coffee, espresso-based drinks, and nitro cold brew. The dinner menu is designed for sharing with a variety of tapas, larger shareable entrees, and desserts.

The wine list will focus on the international and eclectic.

Running the kitchen is the former executive chef of The Asbury, Mike Long. Long’s evening menu will feature both shared plates and entrées, creating an environment where guests can linger with a glass of wine and some small bites or settle in for a complete meal.

Jacob Shorthouse, whose name you may recognize as a contributor to one of our old-fashioned kits while he was at The Porter’s House, steps in as bar manager. The cocktail focus at Rosemont will be on martinis, classic cocktails and cocktails on draft. A number of non-alcoholic options will also be available.

Bradley McClain, former hospitality manager at Peppervine and general manager at Good Food on Montford will run the front-of-house as general manager.

There will also be an indoor/outdoor bar facing a patio space along Caswell Road. The main dining room can seat up to 68 patrons, including six bar seats. The patio seats up to 24.

In addition to the restaurant and bar, Rosemont will include a locally focused market featuring products from North Carolina and surrounding areas.
