    Rock Bottom closes in Uptown

The restaurant locked its doors for good on Monday

Rock Bottom has closed its location in Uptown. Kristen Wile/UP

Rock Bottom Restaurant and Brewery is closed in Uptown as of today. The chain restaurant and brewery has been in the space for more than 20 years.

A sign on the door currently reads: “Thank you, Charlotte. We are officially closing our doors on March 25, 2019. We have enjoyed being part of your neighborhood and we appreciate your business.”

The restaurant has a prime location in uptown at 401 N. Tryon St. Charlotte was the only North Carolina location for Rock Bottom, which has nearly 30 locations.

We’ll be interested to see what moves in; there are very few people in town who can afford that space. We’ve reached out to Rock Bottom for comment and will update this story if/when we receive it. Commence rock bottom jokes. —Kristen Wile
