Robert Irvine visits Charlotte Motor Speedway

The celebrity chef has created menus for the track

Celebrity chef Robert Irvine visited Charlotte Motor Speedway recently to introduce menu items that will be served during the Coca-Cola 600. Irvine is best known for his Food Network series Dinner: Impossible and Restaurant: Impossible. His connection to NASCAR began because of the sport’s support of military families. Irvine served in the British Royal Navy, and his non-profit — The Robert Irvine Foundation — seeks to support and create awareness around veterans and what they sacrifice in service.

A portion of the proceeds for his menu at Charlotte Motor Speedway will benefit the non-profit. The dishes will be available as part of the track’s in-suite dining options during the NASCAR race, and include Coca-Cola braised pork ribs, white cheddar mac-and-cheese, and salted chocolate pudding.

The Coca-Cola 600 will take place on May 24. Irvine served as the race’s grand marshal in 2018. He’ll be on hand once again for this year’s race.

“To be alongside all the men and women in the stands, on the race track — I’m a military guy from the heart, I served many, many years, and to watch what this race and what racing in NASCAR means to the men and women that wear the colors of our nation, the veterans, is something really special,” Irvine said at a press conference at the speedway. —Kristen Wile
