    Ramen Soul has closed

The Mooresville restaurant served ramen, dim sum

Ramen Soul, a ramen and dim sum restaurant in Mooresville, has closed. Ramen Soul was owned by chef Tim and Melany Groody, who also own Fork! in Cornelius.

The restaurant opened in early summer 2017 in a small commercial strip, but managed to have a funky vibe with pun-laden posters and a casual atmosphere.

The heart of the menu was ramen, with traditional broths and more modern accompaniments. The dim sum really stood out; the spicy lamb gyoza, on the menu since opening, was fantastic. Other dishes included steamed buns, egg rolls, and tacos.

Groody says he hopes to eventually re-open the restaurant in a new location or with financial backing. We’ll keep you posted. —Kristen Wile

This is a real bummer. Loved their steam buns!
