Q&A: Thanksgiving sandwiches, next UP dinners

Each week, we answer reader questions about food and drink in Charlotte

Q:  When I was in D.C., I used to love going to a place called Jetties for their Nobadeer sandwich: roasted turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing & mayo on sourdough. Are any local places putting a spin on a similar sandwich?
Tom: The Philadelphia-based chain PrimoHoagies, which just opened its first Charlotte location, typically offers a seasonal PrimoPilgrim, which is that sandwich, but on a different roll. No local shops, to my knowledge, offer one, but they definitely should. Hopefully, your question gets the wheels in motion.

Q: We had a conflict with the UPPYs, but wanted to know when you may be planning any other future non-UPPY dinners.
    Kristen:
We’re sorry you missed this year’s UPPYs. It was a blast. Look for a preview dinner at one of Charlotte’s most anticipated new restaurants coming up very soon. In addition, we also have several events happening during Savor Charlotte, and we’re working hard to bring back our Meat & Potatoes dinner. Stay tuned.
