Q&A: Pop-ups and Passover
Each week, we answer your questions about food and drink in Charlotte
Q: Any new pop-ups happening around town other than the BBQ one you wrote about?
Kristen: We’re always on the lookout for cool new pop-ups like Smoke Show BBQ, which serves Texas-style barbecue. The next one we’re looking forward to is chef Mike Chanthavong’s food truck serving food from Laos. A few other favorites are pastry chef Jasmine Macon‘s pastry boxes to-go from Leah & Louise — the next one is available to preorder now for pick-up on March 30. Jimmy Pearls, formerly at 7th Street Public Market, will also be popping up at Leah & Louise for a dinner on March 29.

Q: Do you know of anywhere to get a Passover meal?
Kristen: Sure do! The deadline just passed for Chef Alyssa’s Kitchen, but there are several other options available. Jewish deli pop-up Meshugganah posted they may be opening up a few more meals today, so keep an eye on their Instagram account. Your Farms, Your Table is delivering a three-course meal with matzo ball soup and brisket on Friday, March 26. La-tea-da’s Catering is also serving a traditional Passover meal for pick-up or delivery, with matzo ball soup by the quart, smoked whitefish dip, potato kugel, latkes, brisket, and more.
