Q&A: Meals with toddlers, What The Fries

Each week, we answer reader questions about food and drink in Charlotte

Q: What are some kid-friendly restaurants in Charlotte? Talking toddler-friendly.
    Kristen:
Have you been to Seoul Food Meat Co. in NoDa? There’s nowhere better! They have a great space for kids to play. We also enjoy The Goodyear House’s patio for a toddler — just bring a shovel and let them have fun with the gravel! Food halls, like Camp North End or Optimist Hall, are always a great bet. I also really like the patio at 300 East for kiddos — there’s a lot of foot traffic to keep little ones entertained. Kid Cashew, Hello Sailor, and The Artisan’s Palate are other great options. Kid-friendly is an option in our restaurant finder, too, if you’d like some more ideas!

Q: What’s next for What The Fries?
Tom: After shutting down their restaurant last month to focus on their food truck business, Jamie Barnes and Greg Williams were involved in an accident which left them with injuries and totaled the truck. A GoFundMe has been set up to help them recoup medical expenses and revive their business. This isn’t the first time the restaurant has temporarily closed to figure out operations, so we hope they’ll be back soon.
