Q&A: Cold Hearted Gelato opening, bourbon gifts

Q: Do you know when Cold Hearted Gelato is opening?
Kristen: I checked in with owner Elinn Hesse for an update on when her chef-driven gelato shop will open its doors. Unsurprisingly, construction was delayed as exterior work took place on the shopping center that will house Cold Hearted Gelato, on the corner of The Plaza and Central Avenue. Here’s her update: “Yes construction has started! There has been a few hiccups of course, but looks like construction should be done early July, so I’m hoping for mid-late July opening.”
Q: Will you have any Father’s Day old-fashioned kits this year?
Kristen: Unfortunately, not yet. But we’re working with a bottling partner to create a shelf-stable product we can sell through retail partners. We hope to have that ready to go this fall. Stay tuned, and thanks for asking!
Q: My dad’s a big whiskey drinker and I’ve love to get him a gift card. Which bars/restaurants have the best whiskey selection?
Kristen: I’d say The Crunkleton, as they’ve got a great vintage spirits program. Dot Dot Dot is another great option.
