Q&A: Anniversaries at home, non-alcoholic menus
Each week, we answer your questions about food and drink in Charlotte
Q:Where would you recommend for takeout / meal kit / bake at home experience for Friday night to celebrate a wedding anniversary? We have done Your Farms Your Table, L’Ostrica, Something Classic, Fin & Fino… anywhere new or old favorite I am missing?
Kristen: Happy early anniversary! I’d check out Table & Twine or Patrick’s Gourmet if you haven’t yet. Table & Twine has a wider variety of offerings, while Patrick’s Gourmet serves a specific meal each day. This week’s Friday menu is Moroccan couscous with chicken and vegetables, with a salad starter and rice pudding for dessert. Chef Alyssa’s Kitchen’s Family Table Meals is a favorite in our house, too. We’ve been trying to eat less meat in our house, and their salmon entree with chimichurri is fantastic. Also, don’t miss the Nutella pie!

Q: When is Lidl in Carmel Commons opening?
Kristen: It is now open! The grand opening was yesterday, May 11.
Q: Do you have a list of options with alcohol free/spirit free cocktail menus?
Kristen: We don’t, but can definitely work on that for you! PARA has some excellent options. Another great spot for non-alcoholic drinks is Sister, formerly Kiki. Stroke in Plaza Midwood serves cocktail offerings with non-alcoholic spirits, including Ritual, which has become popular lately. Really, though, I’ve found that every bar I’ve sat at with a solid cocktail program has been able to deliver on an alcohol-free option.
