Q: Where can I get takeout that’s good for watching football?
UP: If you’re looking for pizza and wings, I recommend Sal’s Pizza Factory. Something Classic is offering several tailgate packages with free delivery, with options like chili and sliders, though you have to order by 10 a.m. on Thursday for free delivery on Saturday. Sweet Lew’s does a Sunday-only “homegate” package for six to eight people. It includes two pounds of pork barbecue, eight buns, and 18 whole wings with sides and slaw for $70. Preordering is suggested. Travis also recently reviewed Lebowski’s, which he says has some of the best wings in town.
Q: Is it time to order turkeys for Thanksgiving yet?
UP: Funny you asked this today — yes, it is! Here is a list of local farms selling turkeys, fresh off the press this morning.
Q: Can I always substitute whole wheat flour for all-purpose?
UP: Good thing we have a resident pastry chef! This is a Justin question for sure. The short answer is yes, but when using it, be sure to measure by volume versus weight. “White/all-purpose flour can be heavier than whole wheat,” he says.
