Q&A: Sweet Lew’s bottled sauces; Easter and Passover meals

Each week, we answer your food and drink questions

Q: When can we expect Sweet Lew’s to start selling bottled sauces?
UP: According to Sweet Lew’s BBQ owner Lewis Donald, they should go on sale at the end of next week! He’s bottling up every sauce in their lineup. Our first purchase will definitely be the Alabama white sauce.

Q: Any recommendations for Easter brunch?
UP: Sure thing! We’ve started a running list of restaurants serving special menus for Easter brunch. We’re continually adding to it, so keep checking back for more. We’re most likely to book Aqua e Vino or The Stanley for our reservation, but there are lots of great options. We also saw on Instagram Wolfgang Puck’s WP Kitchen and Bar is serving the smoked salmon pizza we love so much on Easter.

Q: Where can I buy food for Passover?
UP: Jewish delis are one of the things Charlotte’s missing. The only one I’m aware of is Gleiberman’s Gourmet, down off Providence Road past Sardis. You can order Shabbat meals to go from Kosher Charlotte, too, on Providence Road near Charlotte Jewish Day School and the Jewish Community Center. I’ve heard a few chefs mention starting a Jewish deli lately; let’s hope one of them actually does it. Readers, am I missing a place you know of? Let us know in the comments!

Q: Where can I get that pasta?!
UP: The pasta we used as the background photo on our Instagram story is the penne alla vodka from Mama Ricotta’s.
