The space formerly occupied by Pint Central, at the intersection of Hawthorne Lane and Central Avenue, has changed hands. A new restaurant is coming to the space, owner Nick Pettit confirms, though he declined to share details on what will come.
Pettit is the owner of Lilly Mae’s Organics, a small farm south of Spartanburg, S.C. The farm is organic and sustainable, hinting that the upcoming Charlotte concept will feature the same quality ingredients.
Pint Central closed its doors in October. The bar served beer, cocktails, and wine, as well as selections of small plates that included classic bar fare as well as more modern items such as fried avocado. It opened back in February of 2014, with Henry Schmulling, now the mixologist behind Merchant & Trade, consulting on the original cocktail menu. In recent years, however, Pint Central’s food and service began to suffer. –Kristen Wile
