Next Yolk pop-up at 7th Street Market announced

Fried chicken sandwiches will be the menu’s staple

The Cookin’ Coop will be the next concept to pop up in The Yolk‘s 7th Street Public Market space during the evening hours. The Yolk, Greg and Subrina Collier’s Rock Hill transplant, serves only breakfast and lunch. To fill their space in the Uptown market during dinner service, the Colliers decided to bring in other concepts for three-month pop-up stints.

The first was food truck 225 Street Food, and chefs behind it served a tough menu to follow. Named for the proper braising temperature for the most tender meat, 225 Street Food serves dishes such as a poutine burger, which was one of our must-try dishes, and Korean barbecue tacos. 225 Street Food’s last day at the market is April 27, so you still have a few more days to get your poutine fix.

Also a food truck, The Cookin’ Coop will be the second concept taking over The Yolk space in the evenings. Launched in late summer 2016, The Cookin’ Coop specializes in fried chicken sandwiches. The menu includes hand-breaded options such as buffalo chicken and a classic fried chicken sandwich. The 7th Street Market location will also offer grilled chicken options for the health-conscious.

The Cookin’ Coop will remain in the market for three months, starting on April 30. Their hours will be Tuesday to Saturday from 3:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. We’ll keep you posted on the menu once we’ve eaten our way through it. —Kristen Wile
