N.C. Red to open for brunch

The full menu and a brunch menu will be served on Sundays

Editor’s note: After a few weeks of trial, N.C. Red has decided not to remain open for brunch.

N.C. Red, chef Bruce Moffett’s Plaza Midwood seafood and fried chicken spot, will open for brunch on Sundays starting this weekend.

The restaurant will start brunch service at 1 p.m. and remain open until 7 p.m. The entire regular menu will be available, as well as a small brunch menu. The brunch menu will have four to six items that will rotate frequently. The executive chef of N.C. Red, Drew Dodd, says to expect dishes like chicken and waffles and chicken biscuits. The chicken and waffles will include the restaurant’s fried chicken with a Belgian waffle, hot sauce butter, and Nashville hot syrup. The biscuit will be made of sweet tea-brined chicken on a pimento cheese biscuit with ranch pickles.

This Sunday will also bring the debut of N.C. Red’s to-go window, where you can walk up and grab hot fried chicken instead of dining in.
