Moffett, Coleman among chefs headed to Greenville festival

The annual event is the type of food festival Charlotte should have

Each September, Greenville, South Carolina hosts an annual food festival called Euphoria Greenville. The celebration of music and food tops any food festival we’ve got in Charlotte, and draws some of the best chefs from our town. As one of the headquarters for Michelin, one highlight of the festival is that it always adds Michelin-starred chefs to the roster for a high-ticket dinner. Curtis Duffy, Melissa Rodriguez, and Val Cantu will take part in that dinner, called Seeing Stars.

This year, Euphoria will take place from Sept. 19 to Sept. 22, and Charlotte will be sending some of its biggest names. Bruce Moffett (Barrington’s, Stagioni, Good Food, and N.C. Red) and Clark Barlowe (Heirloom Restaurant) will take part in the opening night event, Songwriter’s Recipe, which pairs live music with food. Both chefs will also take place in a VIP event on Friday night, Eat Sip Listen, before the massive Taste of the South event. Chris Coleman of upcoming restaurant The Goodyear House and Mike Long of The Asbury will serve bites at Taste of the South.

Saturday’s Feast by the Field will include Craig Barbour of Roots and Stefan Huebner of Dot Dot Dot. Huebner is also hosting a sold-out old-fashioned cocktail class. Clark Barlowe and Kyle McKnight of newly-opened Barrister’s will be at Party in the Park, while Ashley Boyd (300 East), Coleman, and Shai Fargian (Yafo Kitchen) are taking part in Grillin’ on the Green. Midwood Smokehouse will cook for the Sunday Brunch event.

Foxcroft Wine Co., which is based in Charlotte but recently opened a Greenville location, is the festival’s official wine retailer, and will host several wine-focused events during the festival.

Guests can purchase tickets for individual events or a weekend pass. The Euphoria kickoff is Unpretentious Baby’s due date, but Justin will be there sharing the scenes for social media for those of us who can’t attend. Purchase tickets here. —Kristen Wile
