    Charlotte restaurants offering Memorial Day meals to go

    Get your brats, barbecue, and burgers from these places

    Memorial Day may be one holiday where we have a sense of normalcy during the coronavirus pandemic, as many Americans spend the day outside with hamburgers on the grill or a smoker going strong. However, with the current disruption in the corporate meat supply, getting your usual cookout items may be more difficult. To make things a little easier this year, here are some local restaurants doing the cooking for you. This list will be updated. —Kristen Wile

    Chef Alyssa’s Kitchen
    Get a classic burger pack with grass-fed beef burgers, Duke’s Bread potato rolls, and tomato, lettuce, and onion for $30; a wagyu hot dog pack with Chef Alyssa’s spread and potato buns for $25, or vegetable kebabs for $20. Side options, which include potato salad, pasta salad, slaw, and watermelon-strawberry salad, are ordered a la carte and serve four to six. Mains serve four. Order by Wednesday at 11 a.m. Pick up on Friday; delivery also available.

    La Belle Helene
    Order chicken, pork, or ribs cooked on the restaurant’s French rotisserie, then select two sides. Options include braised collards, baked beans, mac and cheese, and corn pudding. Rolls, biscuits, cole slaw, sauce, and strawberry icebox pie are also included. $75, serves four. Order by May 22 at noon. Pick up available Friday or Saturday.

    The Crunkleton
    Be extra patriotic with The Crunkleton’s take-and-grill Memorial Day meal, which not only includes beef and chicken kebabs, sides, cobbler, beer, and wine, but hats, sunglasses, and sparklers. $150, serves 6 to 8. Order by May 23 at 5 p.m. for pick up on Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m.

    The Porter’s House
    Find just about any protein on the a la carte menu from Rare Roots Hospitality’s Waverly restaurant. Options include filets, shrimp, burgers, brats, chicken breasts, hot dogs, and KC strip steaks with serving sizes ranging from one to 10. Sides include beans, chili, pasta and potato salads, street corn, slaw, and more. Add on the famous Mom’s Cheesecake or another dessert and a cocktail kit. Mains $6-$60, sides $10-$12.Order by May 20 at 2 p.m. Pick up available Thursday or Friday. Delivery also available. 

    Something Classic
    Choose burgers, pulled pork, or barbecue chicken as your main course, with Mexican street corn, watermelon salad, baked beans, cole slaw, deviled eggs, and dessert served with it. $100, serves four. Order by May 21 at midnight. Free delivery.

    The Stanley
    An assortment of classic cookout foods come ready to throw on the grill, including six burgers, six hot dogs, and six herb-marinated chicken breasts. The kit also comes with buns, potato and macaroni salads, peach and berry cobbler, and a bottle of red or white wine. $100, serves 6 to 8. Order by May 22 by 5 p.m. for pick up on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
