N.C. liquor sales cut-off time, curfew extended
Allowance of to-go cocktails also extended
At a Covid-19 media briefing, Governor Roy Cooper announced a continuation of the modified stay-at-home order currently in effect in North Carolina. The state-wide mandate — which ends liquor sales at 9 p.m. and implements a 10 p.m. curfew — will be extended until Feb. 28, 2021.
“The reality is that [Covid-19 numbers] are still high, and that too many people are still falling seriously ill and dying,” Cooper said. “The virus is still raging through our communities.”
The executive order allowing restaurants and bars to serve cocktails to-go will be extended to March 31, 2021. The executive order was set to expire this week.
The order allowing mixed beverages to-go allows one customer to be given one spiritous liquor mixed drink to-go in a sealed container.
Governor Cooper was unable to answer when the state would move into the next round of vaccinations, given the unknowns surrounding the supply.
