Jamie Lynch, the executive chef of Uptown restaurant 5Church, will be on the upcoming season of Top Chef. The 17th season of the show is Top Chef All Stars, bringing back contestants from throughout the show’s run for another chance at earning the Top Chef title.
Lynch became a fan favorite during his participation of the show’s 14th season in Charleston. He revoked his immunity when he realized he was the chef with the worst performance on an elimination challenge, and was sent home. This season of Top Chef was filmed in Los Angeles.
Lynch is a co-owner of 5Church in Charlotte and Charleston, as well as Sophia’s Lounge and upcoming restaurant Tempest in Charleston.
Speculation was rampant that Lynch may be on the show again when he was off the grid for a while. The contestants are not allowed to disclose their participation in the show until it is announced by Bravo.
The show will premiere on March 19 at 10 p.m. Stay tuned for dates of watch parties with Lynch at the restaurant.—Kristen Wile
