Fork! in Cornelius has been sold
The restaurant focuses on farm-to-table and sustainable cooking
Fork!, an ingredient-driven restaurant in Cornelius owned by chef Tim and Melanie Groody, has been sold. The restaurant, which has been open for six years, will continue operating as Fork! with the existing staff in the short term. It will change hands on Sept. 9, with Groody remaining on for a week help out with the transition. The restaurant will close for a few days to undergo some cosmetic changes.
Groody and his wife, Melanie, decided to put the restaurant up for sale so Tim could move into the corporate cooking world, giving him a less gruesome schedule. At Fork!, Groody says he works 70 hours a week, overseeing not only the kitchen but every aspect of the restaurant. —Kristen Wile
