The Queen & Glass, a cocktail bar in Dilworth, is launching a collaborative dinner series with mixologist Bob Peters and a guest chef. The first dinner, on Wednesday, Jan. 9, will be cooked by chef Michael Bowling, one of the founding members of the Soul Food Sessions dinner series.
Peters, who consults on The Queen & Glass’s cocktail program, will pair a cocktail with each of Bowling’s courses.
The Queen & Glass owner Cory Duran wanted to do a dinner series. When Bowling came in one night for a cocktail, he asked Peters if he knew anyone looking to do a collaborative dinner. Their conversation led to the dinner series’ kickoff event. The plan is to host a new chef each month.
“It’s kind of interesting to get a chef out of their own restaurant,” Peters says. “…That sort of frees them up to experiment or do something that they’ve been thinking about doing or whatever they want, because they’re not constrained to the branding of their own restaurant.”
Peters say he’s got the year almost entirely lined up, and will announce each chef individually.
The events will start at 7 p.m., with a cocktail half-hour. Guests will be seated by 7:30 p.m., with an anticipated finish time of 9:30 or 10 p.m., depending on how many courses are being served. Bowling’s dinner will be five courses, each served with a small cocktail. Bowling and Peters will introduce each course and pairing.
“This is a really incredible opportunity to bring in some pretty amazing names to the Dilworth side of town,” Peters says. Tickets are $100. Purchase them here. —Kristen Wile
