A new wine bar and urban winery will open in Davidson on August 2. Davidson Wine Co. is owned by Lindsey Willams, a former lawyer turned winemaker. Willams started Davidson Wine Co. to produce locally made and affordable wines in the Lake Norman area. Varietals include merlots, cabernets, chardonnays, barolos, pinotages, and petit verdot. 

The wine bar is located in downtown Davidson in a former organ-making shop. Williams worked to renovate the historic building’s former look with modern nods to its organ shop days. Besides wine tastings, small plates, and retail, Davidson Wine Co. will also offer custom wine-making and bottling parties. 

Davidson Wine Co.’s grand opening is scheduled for August 2 from 6 through 10 p.m. A portion of proceeds from the grand opening will go to the Davidson Housing Coalition. Davidson Wine Co. is located at 121 Depot Street. –Justin Burke-Samson
