Chef’s home recipe: Seeded Honey Fig Toast
Try this quick meal for breakfast or lunch
Figs are starting to show up at farmers markets and should stick around through October. A unique fruit, the fig can often stump people when trying to cook with them. I think figs are perfect on their own with a little bit of salt and pepper, but when I want a more substantial meal I will make a hearty toast for breakfast or lunch on the go. Its a quick meal to make using just a few staple ingredients often found already in your pantry and refrigerator. –Justin Burke-Samson
Seeded Honey Fig Toast
Ingredients
- 1 slice of seeded bread, or bread of choice
- 1-2 tablespoons ricotta cheese
- 4-6 ripe figs, sliced
- Drizzle of olive oil
- Drizzle of Honey
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Directions
- Toast seeded bread.
- Spread toast with ricotta cheese.
- Top with sliced ripe figs.
- Drizzle with olive oil and honey.
- Season with flaky sea salt.
