    Chef’s home recipe: Seeded Honey Fig Toast

    Try this quick meal for breakfast or lunch


    Figs are starting to show up at farmers markets and should stick around through October. A unique fruit, the fig can often stump people when trying to cook with them. I think figs are perfect on their own with a little bit of salt and pepper, but when I want a more substantial meal I will make a hearty toast for breakfast or lunch on the go. Its a quick meal to make using just a few staple ingredients often found already in your pantry and refrigerator. –Justin Burke-Samson 

    Seeded Honey Fig Toast

    Ingredients

    • 1 slice of seeded bread, or bread of choice 
    • 1-2 tablespoons ricotta cheese
    • 4-6 ripe figs, sliced 
    • Drizzle of olive oil
    • Drizzle of Honey
    • Salt and pepper, to taste

    Directions 

    1. Toast seeded bread. 
    2. Spread toast with ricotta cheese.
    3. Top with sliced ripe figs.
    4. Drizzle with olive oil and honey.
    5. Season with flaky sea salt.
