The 30th Annual Chef’s Best will take place on Aug. 9. The gala-esque event includes dinner, live music, an auction, and meet-and-greet with a featured chef. This year, the event features celebrity chef Robert Irvine, host of Food Network’s Restaurant: Impossible, and five Charlotte restaurants: The Asbury, Bar Marcel, Merchant + Trade, Roots Cafe & Catering, and WP Kitchen + Bar. The event starts with a reception followed by a three-course meal planned by Irvine.

Chef’s Best benefits Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina’s Community Food Rescue program. The Community Food Rescue program rescues safe, edible food from restaurants, catering companies, and produce markets and delivers the food to agencies like soup kitchens and homeless shelters.

Tickets for Chef’s Best are $100 per person and can be purchased here. The reception starts at 6 p.m. followed by the three-course dinner at 7 p.m. Chef’s Best will take place at the Charlotte Convention Center, 501 S. College St. —Justin Burke-Samson
